Chimera · 1985 → 2026
The author is back at the keyboard.
In 1985 Shahid Kamal Ahmad wrote Chimera for the ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, Atari 400 and Amstrad CPC. Now he has rebuilt it from the Commodore 64 original, with modern tools including AI, and is publishing where every part of it came from. Playable in your browser, soon.
Through the Dancing Monkeys newsletter: stories from four decades in video games, and first word when Chimera is ready.
Every asset accounted for
Every game on Author's Cut comes with a public record: what came from the original, what's new, who made it, where AI helped and how, and what we left out.
